This position reports to the General Manager. Aspers Venue Managers are visible leaders throughout the property, with overall control of all aspects of the business throughout their working hours. With a primary focus on front of house areas, driving operational excellence, high standards, compliance and above all else ensuring that our guests have a safe and enjoyable stay at our venue.

The Venue Manager is responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Working closely with the senior management team – keeping them informed and supported at all times
  • Proactively addressing problems/concerns/standards
  • Complying with licence conditions ensuring timely and accurate reporting as well as supervision of any incidents / ejections
  • Liaising with guests (resolving complaints and providing proactive service recovery, assisting with KYC, audits, Safer Gambling etc)
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers, the landlord, relevant regulatory bodies, licensing authorities, police or other emergency services, members of Newham Council and executive management
  • Maintaining an up to date and detailed knowledge of the licence conditions and other related legislation
  • Ensuring that the venue operates at all times in accordance with said licence conditions and immediately address any areas where this is found not to be the case
  • Highlight to senior management any instances where licence conditions may not have been met
  • Work with Head of Maintenance to ensure all property standards are maintained and any issues rectified promptly

Selection Criteria (Essential)

  • A minimum of 3 years Senior Management experience, preferably in the casino, hospitality, retail or service environment
  • Holds or is eligible to hold a PML Extensive knowledge and experience of service industry and service culture
  • Solid understanding of leadership and management practices
  • Knowledge of the standard UK regulatory environment related to operations of a gambling and entertainment facility

This role functions in a business that operates evenings and weekends, and as such full flexibility is required.  The role will be expected to be available to work for any requirements within Aspers & this will mean evening & weekend obligations outside of ‘normal’ working hours.
